About Resource Therapy
Resource Therapy is a parts based therapy that was established by Professor Gordon Emmerson originally from Helen & John Watkins Ego-state therapy. Resource therapy theorises that the personality is made of different parts. In order for healthy psychological functioning it is necessary that these individual parts feel safe and have the same common goal of inner peace and the ability of the person to function effectively and efficiently.
As a Psychotherapist specialising in Clinical Resource Therapy I am passionate about observing positive behaviour change and increased healthy functioning in individuals. I have learnt that with self-compassion and a willingness to change, individuals can overcome trauma and grow in strength and capacity. I am privileged to witness healthy transformation and self achievement in individuals that has emerged from their personal motivation to take steps toward behaviour change.
When you work in health organisations with individuals across the lifespan for over 30 years you really get to know what is most important to them. A continuum of study and personal development has expanded my experience and understanding of child/adult relationships. It is a culturally sensitive and diverse skill set. My strengths are in Facilitation, Coordination, Goal orientated Psycho-education and Counselling. I value person centered therapy and how it motivates individuals toward achievable behaviour change.
